I'm a Tendon fan but had yet to locate a good restaurant without breaking the bank. Until I checked out Butahage Suntec! I was greeted with a warm welcome and given a complimentary green tea (self service hot water so you could refill). Ordered the tendon set. The portion was great! 😄 Very enjoyable meal at a reasonable price. This is my first visit but certainly not the last. Keep up the good work!

Having my dinner here on weekday and the crowd is lesser than lunch time. You can have seats easily without waiting. On top, ordering is via QR code so you can easily read and order via your phone. Ordered the tendon set but sadly I order extra sauce but the sauce is pitiful little. Have order a beer which is promotion. Good to have with food. Overall, if there is more sauce will be good otherwise is good to have dinner here.

While Butahage is famed for its Hokkaido-style braised pork, their tempura is a surprisingly excellent side or add-on. Expect light, incredibly crisp, and golden batter that shatters perfectly without being greasy. The selection typically includes fresh, well-prepared classics like prawn, sweet potato, eggplant, and shishito pepper – each piece cooked just right to retain texture inside. It's a simple yet expertly executed tempura that complements their rich pork bowls beautifully, adding a welcome textural contrast. Definitely worth ordering alongside your main.

The food was delicious, and the environment of the restaurant was nice. But how can you serve beer with a plastic tea cup? Just look at your posters — you’re supposed to be a Japanese restaurant. Is it really that hard to provide a glass? Every Japanese restaurant I’ve been to serves beer with a glass. On this point alone, I could give you a bad review.

The best crispy and light tempura I’ve ever had! The batter is perfectly fried—light, crispy, and not greasy at all. I added on the mini cold soba, which was refreshingly springy and well-balanced in flavor. The Yasai tendon was very reasonably priced at just $6.80, making it a great value for quality tempura. Highly recommended for all tempura lovers!

It was quiet when i visited on a monday night at around 8pm. Got a counter seat. Ordered the original pork loin set. There was free sencha green tea. Felt pretty japanese. The food was okay. Pork loin was tougher than I would have liked it to be but the sauce was tastey.. if you have concerns for health, there is a nice option to choose for more sauce. The edamame portion was sad though. Mochi was awesome. Very soft and chewy. It was the best part of the meal. Matching that with hot green tea was lovely.

Variety of food dishes and the taste was pretty good. Five stars for the nabemono which was quite good with personal cooktop. Needed extra set of udon for size and it was fairly ex to add so be warned. Disappointed in the sizing of the seafood and salmon ikura don though - could have been a bigger bowl with more rice, so be warned that even the pricey dish may not be filling.

They’ve a cheap lunch set until 5pm. Food is just so-so. Nothing so memorable. But the fries were very little for the price of $3+. The quantity is sufficient but the meat / beef is very fatty. There’s not really much service. Maybe it’s off peak hour when we went and they’ve not many staff. Would I be back? I’m not sure. Suntec has many options. Don’t really need to eat this. Not so memorable.

Honestly really affordable for a good tendon. Rice was good, wasn't mushy. Tempura had the good kind of coating, crisp and not overpoweringly jelak. The pork was pretty good given that it was fried, was still fatty and tender. The shrimp was quite bad though, in terms of the coating, somehow tasted like those bad kind of mushy tempura coating that is soggy. So just get the tempura butadon. The mentaiko fries tasted abit weird for mentaiko fries, and the mentaiko sauce itself was pretty little. Overall, a steal if you know which items to get (buta tendon) and really quite decent

Relatively crowded during weekend lunchtime, but being seated at the counter tables allowed us front row seats to the cooking process behind the scenes which was very interesting to watch as well! Service was excellent, each customer is given one complimentary packet of green tea (self service water dispenser) and ordering is done via QR code. I ordered the Buta Tempura & Noodle (soba) set ($15.80++) with the chawanmushi add-on ($3.80++) but even though the pork itself was tasty, I thought maybe tempura-ing pork may not have been the best option… Would recommend sticking to the standard fare of ebi prawn and vegetables if you plan to order tendon or go for their famous grilled buta don instead!
