I dropped by Salmon Warrior recently and tried their highly recommended Surf & Turf Don along with a side of tamago sushi in three flavours — and I must say, it was a satisfying experience both visually and taste-wise.
The Surf & Turf Don came generously portioned with flame-torched salmon slices and tender grilled beef, laid over a bed of fluffy Japanese rice. The salmon had that perfect smoky char while still maintaining a buttery texture. The beef was juicy and flavourful, with just the right amount of seasoning — no sauce overload, just clean, savoury notes that complemented the salmon well. Paired with crunchy broccoli, sweet corn, and juicy cherry tomatoes, the bowl struck a good balance between protein, carbs, and veg.
As for the tamago sushi platter, it was surprisingly impressive for what’s often seen as a simple side. Each tamago slice was thick, sweet, and custardy, with a twist from the toppings:
The Garlic Butter Tamago was rich and fragrant, perfect for garlic lovers.
The Mentai Tamago was creamy and indulgent, with that umami hit we all crave.
And the Mala Mentai Tamago? A spicy surprise! It brought a mild, tingly heat without overpowering the egg’s natural sweetness — definitely a standout.
Overall, Salmon Warrior nails it in terms of value, presentation, and taste. If you're craving a hearty, protein-loaded donburi with a side of creative sushi bites, this spot’s worth checking out.

✅ Affordable for the quality
🔺 Would love more sauce options for the beef
I had the beef and chick don. The meat is tender, the onsen egg adds creaminess, and the pickles and lettuce keep each bite fresh. It is a neat, filling bowl.
Cheesezilla yakitori brings chicken skewers covered in a rich cheese sauce. The salmon miso soup is light, filled with chunks of salmon. We had the iced green tea as well, which helped cut through the umami-ness cleanly.
The combo is straightforward comfort, with well-cooked beef and chicken, a simple broth, and a refreshing drink, with the cheesy yakitori as the only indulgence.
Dine in at this Salmon Warrior outlet a few occassions during work lunch hours but yet to post a review before. Until my son suddenly told me he wanted me to tabao home the maki because he likes it so much since he tried it two weeks ago. Therefore decided give my thumbs up.
The maki with "long" salmon slices that covers the rice almost entirely and generously topped with mentai sauce and chicken floss indeed tasted very nice. Most importantly, the dish has no fishy taste at all and flavourful. Furthermore, best if dine at the outlet, it is served warm and therefore tasted even better.
Also ordered the Yakiniku dry udon which is my usual lunch bowl. Good portion and never fails to satisfy my taste buds. Gotten the Cheezilla also which was well liked by my other kid, who likes the well seasoned chicken layered with cheese.
Will continue to support with my colleagues, not only the food but the staffs are also friendly and fast, allowing me to enjoy my meal time fully.
Conveniently situated in Suntec City, Salmon Warrior is a small store that is mostly suited for fuss-free takeaway orders. For dine-in, there are a few tables right outside the store.
We were impressed with its range of Japanese bowls, which included its signature salmon dons, dry udon and chicken/beef dons. Salmon Warrior is Halal certified, making it an appealing option for Muslim diners. I ordered the Ultimate Warrior don, which came with a generous serving of salmon topped with 3 types of dressing - mentaiko, mala mentaiko and garlic mayo.
The sauces made the whole bowl burst with umami while preserving the salmon's flavour, not overpowering it. The hanjuku egg and fresh salad prevented the bowl from being too jelak.
My partner ordered the Unagi Mentai Udon, which was excellent as well. The mentaiko paired wonderfully with the savoury unagi, and the udon noodles were deliciously think and coated with its own mentai sauce. We were so impressed that we ordered another Chicken Don to takeaway
Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for an easy yet tasty option for Japanese bowls, especially office workers around the area looking for a quick takeaway meal.
Stumbled upon this spot while exploring Suntec, and it turned out to be quite a pleasant surprise. I went with the Mala Salmon Chirashi Don, paired with buckwheat soba. The mala seasoning was nicely balanced not too overpowering, allowing the freshness of the salmon to shine through. For just $2 more, I upgraded to a set meal, which came with a miso soup and a cup of green tea
My partner ordered the Triple Mentai Don served on sushi rice, a rich and flavorful choice for mentai lovers. We also added 6 pieces of Yakitori, which were juicy with a light char.
If you're looking for premium-quality salmon without the premium price tag, Salmon Warrior delivers exactly that. I was honestly surprised by how fresh and flavorful the Salmon were—rich in taste, firm in texture, and perfect for everything from searing to sashimi.
The tamago was also wonderfully cooked, the fillings were appetising, perfect for pairing with the don.
Will be back again!
Tried Salmon Warrior Express after work and really enjoyed the build your don concept. I got the salmon chirashi and warrior beef combo. Everything was fresh and the portion was generous. Even after taking it home for about 45–50 minutes, the beef stayed surprisingly tender and not dry at all.
The teriyaki sauce had a nice umami punch without being overly sweet. The toppings like the avocado, ebiko, corn, kimchi and onsen egg were fresh and tasty, adding good texture and colour to the bowl.
It’s value for money for a hearty, healthy and customisable donburi. Will definitely come back to try other bases and proteins next time!
good place for a salmon sashimi fix! had their double salmon sashimi bowl which was a mix of two delicious flavours - one soy-based and one with a decent spicy kick - topped off with a generous serving of avocados! very reasonable price for the portion size too. great for takeout back to office or a quick lunch bite
Nestled among the numerous shops in Suntec, salmon warrior may be easy to miss but that’d be a huge pity!
Everything we tried was beyond our expectations. If there is only one you can get, I highly recommend their soba base. It’s thoughtfully marinated, and cold, which added so much more flavour & texture compared to other places. I customised my own bowl and left with a satisfied belly 🤰
Tried the dry udon dishes here and found the flavors quite bold and enjoyable. The grilled chicken and salmon options were nicely done. The place feels casual and easygoing — good for a quick meal. Portions were decent, considering bowls start from $9.90-$10.90 only. Overall, a solid spot if you want something different from typical fast food.
