First time eating here and I've never really tried supposedly authentic cuisine from China, so fren brought me here to for my first time. She made a reservation and i understand that reservation is only held for 5 mins. Food taste quite nice, but for someone who can't tolerate high spicy, the suancai fish is a little too spicy (as well as oily). Fish was tender and taste fresh thou. Tried one of their "New" item and it tasted like fried pork with Thai style Chilli. Not bad thou. Fren did a small performance to get a free dish and it tasted like muah chee texture. Mild taste but it's full of starch. Love their free flow rosella and orange peel drink which u can make it yourself. Overall, will recommend but if you are sensitive to spicy and oily food, then u shd avoid.
Finally we tried Tai Er. We came around 5:45pm on a Saturday. No queue yet but the restaurant was already half full. The service was very good. The food arrived quite fast. Everything we ordered was good especially the suancai fish, mouthwatering chicken, sweet & sour chicken and stir-fried green beans. They did give a free dessert for a 5-star review though. But still, they are good. Recommended.
I liked the food, and will definitely revisit the place to try other dishes available. I think we need to order the side dishes which I did for tofu and black fungus.
The orange tea was kinda strange. Maybe I dunno how to mix it up properly 🤔
Service is impeccable! The food is on the salty side but that may be the case for this cuisine. Special shout out to the sautéed cabbage—it’s surprisingly really good!!
Superb service. Absolutely love the free Roselle and Tangerine drink that you can make to your perfect liking.
All the dishes were just super duper tasty in authentic Sichuan style.
The suancai fish soup with white rice was absolutely delicious, flavorful, tangy, and super comforting. The spicy shrimp cracker was a bit too spicy for me, but the black sugar jelly dessert was a perfect, refreshing way to end the meal. Loved the self-service DIY tangerine and Roselle tea, a nice touch. The cashier was friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better.
Use QR code to order. There is a lot drawing box for you to get your lucky lot. The chinese and english translation a bit different.
The signature salted veg fish is very good. The wuhan rice glistered, not sure how they do it. The rest of the food are average. The fried seaweed is quite bad and not worth it.
The flower tea is nice and free flow. You can choose hot or cold.
Food came pretty quickly, with huge portions and authentic flavours. Loved the free-flow tea, you get to mix it yourself with different dried tangerines and roselle, which was really unique.
We got the signature suan cai fish soup and it was amazing. Super flavourful and comforting! we finished it to the last drop. Also recommend the garlic prawn glass noodles. It was pleasantly delicious, and the prawns were fresh and super plump.
The quirky fortune shaker and cute phrases made the whole dining experience really enjoyable.
The cabbage was slightly oily, and the crispy pork was quite mid, lacked tenderness and flavour, so I wouldn’t recommend those.
Overall, it’s on the pricier side, but worth a try. Will definitely be back to try the tomato fish soup next!
Second time trying the food here. The sauerkraut suan cai fish broth has improved. It is tastier now. The egg with vegetables is delicious. Mapo tofu is average. Overall delicious
