Recommend by a friend, visited 2 times in a week! Super love it hehe initially tried the green pepper then now tried the spicy with 3 chilli. For someone who cant eat spicy, still find it managable. Dont forget to sign up for member for $5 voucher discount although forgot to use it in the first time dine here.

One of the best Grilled Fish in Singapore! Super fresh fish. They used a kind of catfish for their grilled fish, very fatty at the belly portion, which is really soft texture, and it will melt in your mouth! The original flavour is green chilli flavour, not super spicy but it is just nice to satisfy my spicy flavour. I add some toppings like mushrooms, tofu, and some green vegetables. The combination is really delicious! I ordered the small crispy fried chicken also, and their Chinese style Mochi. Really tasty!

We ordered the half green pepper fish and it was perfect for sharing between two people. The fish was incredibly fresh and tender, with a bold, spicy kick and that numbing sensation definitely one for spice lovers. If you have a low spice tolerance, consider yourself warned. We also tried the coconut fried chicken as a side dish, it had a light, crispy batter. The coconut flavor was subtle, it still made for a satisfying bite.

almost perfect experience here!!! the fish is perfectly spicy, not too hot and not too mild. so delicious when paired with rice and tofu. the cheesy sweet potato banana is a little sickly after a few bites but yummy nonetheless. the nian gao with sugar syrup was a bit disappointing though, it was too oily and kinda tasteless. the fish was the best for sure though, so fresh tasting and delicious!! service was also amazing! i love everyone’s friendly attitudes and the atmosphere is very authentically chinese. very beautiful restaurant.

Service was lukewarm and the food felt average—definitely a step down from previous visit. If you’re not a fan of fish with a soft, dory-like texture, you might not enjoy their choice of fish. The only saving grace was the self-serve tea station, which helped offset the saltiness of the dishes.

LOVE THE FISH HERE!!!! i used to get their green chili fish, but realised that their prawn & crab roe one is much more unique & distinct! green chili fish can be found at quite a few other competitors shops, but no where else has crab roe fish. it is very salty and crabby, the gravy is delicious & complements the tender fish very well. i crave this taste a lot & highly recommend it! they used to have nice side dishes (stewed spicy beef) but i think they changed the menu so the selection is limited now :/

the fish 很好吃 ！we ordered the crab roe flavour.. MUST!! get the rice as it pairs well with the soup. the staff are really friendly and helpful, overall its a nice environment to dine in.

The $36++ lunch set for 2 pax (available until 5pm weekends) offers solid value. The star is the green chili grilled fish (kao yu): properly dry rubbed and grilled before immersion in that intoxicating broth, it was fragrant with surprise red onions and warm spices that lend an almost curry-like aroma—addictive paired with rice, though leaning a little too oily. The seasoned mushrooms were earthy and well-seasoned, a simple but satisfying side. Skip the lamb skewers, was hungry and wanted a little extra, they’re pricey, lean, and lack plump juiciness. Service impressed: one solowaiter effectivly managed the entire dining room during our 3pm weekend visit with warmth and efficiency. A great option for flavorful, shareable Sichuan-inspired fare in Suntec, especially if you prioritize the fish set and don’t mind the oiliness.

I agree with other reviews that this is one of the best grilled fish in Singapore! The fish is delicate and fresh and it’s not greasy. The fish skin is fat and crispy. The green pepper flavor is nicely spicy (note it’s very different from their competitor if you’re thinking of the same taste). Service was ok, similar to Taier branches that I visited. We visited on a Friday night around 630pm. No reservation and can easily walk in for 2 pax. Highly recommend!

My most favorite restaurant at Beautiful Lai Grilled Fish @ Suntec City.. The grilled fish was so fresh and well cooked. Nice broth. My 2nd birthday celebrated there with my daughter. Good service.. Highly recommend. Always happy to dine there.
