The food here tasted so authentic! To be honest, okonomiyaki tasted even nicer than I had in japan as It is more rich and flavourful in taste. I will come back just for this!
Same goes for the beef nabe broth is very rich and has a unique miso taste. All very good, except the smoked duck which is very salty, but the chilli has a yuzu blend which is sooooo nice!!
First to dine in when they open 5.30pm and food r cooked and served hot! Yums 🤤
Authentic okonomiyaki and yakisoba! Flavorful! Delicious! Customer service is super good and made our time there very enjoyable! Ordered nabe pork and beef too, and it came after we finish the okonomiyakis, which finishes our meal very well as the veg and miso soup are refreshing to the palette.
Great new restaurant for okonomiyaki. I had the mondan-yaki which had noodles mixed in too and it was delicious. One of the best I've had in SG. The buta tepanyaki had very flavourful pork but would have preferred it slightly more tender. Will be back to try the hotpots.
We enjoyed our meal here! The lamb tsukune was absolutely delicious to us but some might find it too lamb-y. It was perfect to us.
The hanabi seafood yakisoba had a wonderful char and the noodle texture was so qq. The dish was so more-ish and we enjoyed every bit of it. It was a tad oily but I guess that’s what makes it delicious lol.
The motsunabe was very warming and umami, and went very well with a bowl of rice. We are lovers of motsunabe and have been to a few restaurants serving this around Singapore and this rendition is our favourite. The motsu texture is not too chewy and it does not smell bad. Just wish they were more generous with the portion of motsu!
Service was fast and friendly, especially the male waiter who was particularly cheerful. We spent $93 for 2pax and left with happy and full bellies.
Bonus: we spotted a typo on one of the posters on the wall which states their shop name wrongly 😹
Decided to give this place a try and we were so glad we did.
Friendly and attentive staffs, delicious food at affordable pricing, lots of variety that we were spoilt for choices.
I remembered this japan fried noodles dish from cineleisure basement when i was a teenager and i couldnt seem to find it anywhere in local japanese restaurant. Was so happy to see it available here and learnt that it's called modanyaki.
We also had the beef nabe and it's definitely the best miso soup we had. The soup is refillable and is so flavourful that i could have just the soup and plain rice and be content. The squid tentacles were fresh and perfectly done.
Highly recommend and we'll definitely be back again to try other menus!
Tendon Kohaku is conveniently located in North Atrium Level 3 of Suntec City, in the tower above Olivia and Co.
They serve really good tendons, with the options of Hokkaido white rice and Japanese 16-kinds Multigrain rice. The original and spicy sauces are really good, so much so that we have never tried the mala sauce.
Do be prepared to queue during rush hour but the food is worth the wait. The service on the other hand is friendly, yet rushed. Also do be prepared that either of the rice options will be sold out if you come after 1830. This has happened to us twice in a row, for both their white rice and multigrain rice options.

Restaurant opens at 5pm, queue was already forming at 4:55pm. Staff was slow in responding to the crowd. Restaurant was pretty small but was still have the Japan vibes.
Staff wasn't attentive, had to kept hand raised for pretty much a minute or more. Didn't seem to be interested in taking our orders and also didn't confirm our order after that.
We ordered the signature bowl and the truffle bowl. Looks and taste wise were up to expectations! The truffle bowl really did have small bits of truffle sliced into it and tasted really good! The signature bowl portion was generous for the price, packs a crunch on every bite of the tempura. Good job to the chefs who prepared this delicious meal!
Overall experience was pretty good, would come back again after the covid19 restrictions have been lifted. Hopefully by then the staff will be more responsive and less robotic like.
The tempura and batter feels like it has been fried several times because it was dry and chewy rather than light and crispy. The rice portion was to little and kind of undercooked. They didn’t give miso soup because they said there’s no more soup; at the very least they should offer something like a simple drink or a dessert.. to also be fair to them, it was 8.45pm and they did warned us that they are closing and it will be last order… guess we should have just turned and walk away
Still pretty decent. However, the oil fried batter does not seem as crispy and light as before. It tasted a little too greasy and almost doughy??? Nothing fantastic about the miso soup and chawamushi, I guess it’s it’s a nice add on for getting the set meal.
Simply authentic and memorable Japanese tempura tendon. Visited this restaurant on a Thursday and there are many seats available the crowd progressively come in from 6.15pm onwards. I had their signature Kohaku tendon set with tempura egg and it was excellent. I recommend the original sauce separated so that the tempura will remain crispy for longer. Service crew are attentive and I recommend their chawanmushi for its flavourful and fresh. Will return again.
